One of my favorite music acts Jatun will be supporting the amazing Kelli Rudick at The Woods on October 2nd. Jatun create some of the best electronic shoegaze music in the indie scene. Highly recommend purchasing their self titled album.

A collection of new work added to the Artwork section of the Gallery, there's some new personal pieces as well as some of the new DLC work too.
Dead Letter Circus is currently touring their new single "The Space On The Wall" across Australia, and can be heard on Triple J and available on iTunes. Check out the dates on the tour poster from the previous blog post, come along and catch a show if you're close by.
Also added some new desktop backgrounds to the Downloads section. Many thanks for the recent emails and comments especially from the DLC listeners that have been checking out my work. A very loving bunch of guys and gals.
Also a little heads up, I'm looking into publishing a new book of work in the near future. My last book was published back in 2005 so I'm feeling it's time to put something much more fresh and exciting out. Something much more revealing.
peace and love.

Some new photography work has been added to the Photo Media gallery, mostly some more urban street work. Massively pissed that I can't start my Honours at Uni until the beginning of next year, but what can you do I guess. I'll keep pushing through and use the rest of the year to keep busy with some complimentary units and continue to plan out my Honours project.

I've completed work on the Jasper Faolan book project. The book is titled "A Raw Hummingbird" and is the first installment in the Hummingbird Series. Jasper is keeping me posted on its progress and has told me it will be available through Amazon in about two weeks. I'll post a link and excerpt when it becomes available. Jasper was so great to work with, I hate when really enjoyable collaborations come to an end. It feels like you're breaking up with someone. Definitely hoping to work together again in the future.

About a week or two ago I received a very gracious email from vocalist Kim Benzie of emerging Brisbane alternative rock band, Dead Letter Circus. The band has asked for me to create a visual interpretation of their music. Initially I wasn't planning on creating any new illustrations this year since I've been heavily focused on my photography projects, but after one listen of their Myspace tracks I jumped straight onto iTunes and purchased all their material. It's not often a band will move me like this and I've already turned down a few jobs this year, their music was so compatible with my work I just couldn't say no, they sound incredible. Plus they're an Australian band, I'll walk over broken glass for Aussie bands.

Dead Letter Circus are currently in the studio recording their debut album which is being mixed by Dave Bottrill (Tool, Mudvayne, AFI, Staind, Muse, Silverchair). They also have an upcoming tour with Aussie's own The Butterfly Effect, check the poster below if you're in any of the listed towns in July. Worth bookmarking these guys.

All my personal projects are on hold while I collaborate on this series of works for Dead Letter Circus. They've given me a lot of creative scope for the project, which I always appreciate. The completed series will be kept under wraps until the release of the album.

Also, many thanks to Exiff of the Deathbook project for inviting me to join the illusive Abnormals.org social network. I'll have "Between The Fifth and One" in the upcoming Polish Deathbook by the nEgoist art group. The book will be released some time in Spring 2009, featuring a select group of International artists and will be released as a limited edition of 300 copies. I've seen the collection of works for the book and am honored to have a place amongst them. I'll post a link once the book is released.

I also have a piece featured in Issue 13 of the German magazine Inside Artzine. I received my copy last week and am grateful to be in the same issue with great artists such as Chris Mars, Chet Zar, Stephanie Bennett and my bud Oliver Haeker.

peace & love.

It never ceases to amaze me, the variety of people and diversity of cultures you pass on the street each and every day. Today at around 1PM I finished uni for the day, a little frustrated at my lack of pinhole camera skills which is part of my Photography unit for this semester, I decided to finish up for the day and relax by taking my Canon G10 into the streets for an hour or two of casual street photography. As I slowly made my way through the main mall area I noticed this young man conducting the most mesmerizing, almost ritualistic movements with two glass balls. At first I stood about 10 feet way, just watching and getting the occasional photo as he performed for the general public, who didn't seem all that interested and probably much to locked up in their own little worlds to take any notice of something other than themselves.

After a minute or so, I decided to sit down almost next to the gentleman, taking stacks of images as he pulled out a range of tricks for me to photograph. The only thing stopping me from becoming hypnotized by his performance was my camera which separated, yet intrinsically connected us. His fluent and graceful movements with these glass balls, and my camera following every moment, feeding a visual orgy of spiritual sensations into my mind as a sat and watched, sometimes forgetting to capture the images.
Then, at the last minute from nowhere he pulled this small pose for me with an acknowledging wink as I quickly framed and snapped my last images.

We never spoke, and I have no idea where he is from, where he is going and what his story entails. But in those few minutes of sitting and watching this young busker sitting on the dirty streets in the cold, performing for the public as they bustled to and from their important meetings and meaningless latte gossips, I felt his character had told me a story, and for a brief moment both our characters came together to write a small section in each others stories, before parting ways and continuing our separate journeys.

I reached into my pack and pulled out some loose coins from the bottom, sat them in his hand made collecting base, gave him a thumbs up and continued on my way. He was incredibly grateful for my couple of dollars, but I think I was the most grateful for being able to enjoy his very interesting performance. Sometimes you learn so much more by stopping and silently watching very minor moments in the world, rather than always aimlessly running around trying to achieve those moments of personal insight.
peace & love.

A new collection of urban street photography has been added to the Photo Media gallery, the latest works were captured with the new Canon G10, an absolutely beautiful little bridge camera, perfect for unintrusive street shooting. It had been a long time since I took my camera out into the streets, my current schedule has been pretty busy so the G10 has allowed me to continue being productive whilst walking to and from different places.
peace & love.

NewWebPick magazine has a feature and interview with me for their 20th issue. The publication has a readership of over 3 million people which has given me some great exposure. In the interview I discuss my current ambitious projects for the first time, check it out if you'd like to see what I've been up to.
I've also been collaborating on a book with US author Jasper Faolan which is approaching the finish line. It's probably been the most enjoyable book design I've worked on and she's been open to some really off beat ideas which I always love. Once everything is completed I'll be able to post some more information about the book and it's release date.
peace & love.

The year is really starting to get away now, been too fast if you ask me. "Your Little Love Song" has been included in issue 17 of We Are The Image Makers. Also have some work in issue 3 of Logical Unsanity which was a surprise being shown along side some of the artists I love and admire such as the great Joseph Larkin and fellow Aussie Jon Beinart. I had to pull out of the Brunswick Street Gallery show which was a bummer and a half, but I'll be looking to be a part of it next year.
Doing some work at the moment for a couple of authors which I'm excited about, I love working authors on book covers. I'll also soon have some work displayed as acoustic panels in a new music venue in Brisbane which is one of the coolest things I've been asked to do. I'll have more information on that in the future.
I just received an invitation to be a part of the 2009 Wrest Point Art Awards, I had a great time there in January so I'm hoping get down there for that one too.
Lately I've been getting back into an early love of mine being Video Art. I'm in the process of puting together a site to show some of the video projects I've been working on which I'm hoping to have up some time over the Summer.

A bunch of new photography work has been added to the Photo Media section of the Gallery, including my most recent street photography work which will be exhibited in the Brunswick Street Gallery's upcoming "Picture This" show in Melbourne. The show will run from September 12th - 25th, 2008.
My Self Portrait, Panel 3 piece is also being exhibited in this years International Digital Art Show at the Museum of Computer Art's new gallery space in Brooklyn, NYC. The exhibition will be running from September 2nd until the 18th. Thanks to Don Archer for the continual support of my work. I also have some work in issue 63 of PhireBrush. Unfortunately, I've had to remove the free textures from my website after some ongoing abuse by a couple of small international groups that I've been unable to combat. My apologies to those young artists who have enjoyed using my textures. My texture collections cd is still available in the store however. All part of being an artist in a digital age I suppose. Thanks also to the Noise global art network for publishing my work in the July newsletter. The exposure that brought with it was very unexpected.

10/June/08

Some new work added to both the Artwork and Photo Media sections of the Gallery. I've also added a new section on the gallery page for my recent Fractal designs. Thank you to those who have sent such kind comments and feedback on the new work.
I've also updated the Introduction page with a more up to date artist statement.
I have a new piece in issue 62 of Phirebrush, but apart from that I've been very focused on my major project for the year, so not much in the way of magzines or exhibitions at the moment. I'm also reworking the store page at the moment, currently scrapping a heap of dated prints and moving the better art prints to my RedBubble profile, as their prints have become a much higher standard than DeviantArt. I also have some new desktop bacgrounds free to download.

Finally got around to posting some new work on the site. The Gallery section has been redesigned and seperated into two individual sub-galleries. I think it works a bit better than the last design and it's much easier for me to update and add work to.
My piece "Self Portrait, Part 3" can be seen in the February issue of DeskTop Magazine. I totally forgot that I was appearing in there. I'd known about it since December. The coverage I received from the publication was incredible, it was a very nice surprise to find out, thanks Tony. There are lots of new photographs in the Photo Media Gallery so be sure to check them out. I've also added a new piece to the Artwork Gallery titled "Just Like Heaven". Yes it's named after the Cure song!
You can also see me in the 2008 Museum Of Computer Art Awards at the MOCA website. Thanks to Don Archer for the great annual event. Thanks also for everyones very kind emails, comments and messages since November. I hope I got back to all of you. If not, just message me again.

Some new artwork & photography work has been added to the Gallery page. My piece "Soul Mates" recently won a contest on Red Bubble. Thanks to SnowDog for conducting the contest, there were some really great works entered.
For anyone in the Hobart area of Tasmania, I've been invited to exhibit in the Wrest Point Art Awards & Exhibition in January, 2008.
The exhibition will be open to the public from noon to 9pm daily, from the 5th until 13th of January at the Boardwalk Gallery, Sandy Bay. I'll have two pieces in the exhibition, "Cataract Gorge", and "Self Portrait, Part 3". I'll also be appearing in the next issue of Photoshop Creative Magazine as a runner up in the PS Creative Contest.
A sneak peek of the 2nd issue of GUD Magazine has been released with my piece "Fools & Intellects" on the cover. The folks at GUD have been really supportive of my work. I'm looking forward to the release of issue 2. I can also be seen in the latest issue of Throw Shapes, and on the issue 10 cover of Ripples Magazine.
Congratulations to Declan & Christian of Mako for the release of their debut album "Living On Air". I can't wait to hear the new tracks.
Thanks as always to everyone for the kind emails, comments and messages regarding my work, it's very much appreciated.

Three new pieces have been added to the Artwork section of the Gallery. Issue four of Forbidden Whispers Magazine is available now and has a nice feature of my work. Thanks Michael & Anna for inviting me to submit.
Jon Beinart of the Surreal Art Collective has kindly invited me to be a part of the International Surreal Art Collective, I'm honored that Jon thinks my work is worthy of being placed next to some of the worlds best surreal & visionary digital artists.
I also have some new art prints & T-shirts available through Red Bubble which have become quite popular. I'll be adding some more designs when I get some time. Thanks for the kind emails & messages.

19 new pieces have been added to the Photography section of the Gallery.
Issue 53 of Phirebrush is out and features 2 of my photographs. The new Textures section is now up and working. If you're an artist or designer and looking for some hi resolution royalty free textures, then check them out, they're free to download and can be used for both commercial & non-commercial use. I've been trialing giving my textures away on DeviantArt, and after the great feedback receieved I've decided to go ahead with it. If you enjoy my textures feel free to email me your creations. If your work really strikes me, you might even recieve a copy of "Artistic Methods".
Thanks for all the emails & messages and a special thanks to Declan O'Shea, former frontman of Cyclefly & singer of Mako for the recent kind words about my work.

Some new work added to the photography and artwork sections of the Gallery.
Be sure to check out & download issue 7 of Womag, art & culture magazine which features 8 pages of my work as well as some other very talented artists from around the world.
I've also just been notified that I'll be featured in the next issues of GUD magazine & Forbidden Whispers magazine.
Thanks for all the kind emails and messages and thanks to everyone who came and saw my work at the Powerhouse Gallery.

A few new photographs have been added to the Photography section of the Gallery. Some of these are featured in my "Alternate Macro" series which I'm creating for my BCA Photography Project. You can also find a new section on the Gallery page titled "Transitions Into The Abstract" (seen below). This is a continuous series which I'm working on as part of my BCA Digital Project. My aim for this series is to document the transitions between representational and abstract art through the modification of a single image or artwork. As the series develops I will most likely dedicate a page on this site specifically for the series as to keep the gallery from becoming too cluttered.
The new issue of GUD Magazine features some of my work. It looks like an interesting issue and features some beautiful work from fellow artists and creatives.
For anyone in the Launceston or Northern Tasmanian area, my piece "Fools & Intellects" will be on display in a group exhibition at the Powerhouse Gallery, Inveresk from May 31st to June 7th.

Some new work has been added to the Portrait and Photography sections of the Gallery. There are also some slightly larger individual versions of the portrait images. I have many more photographs to add, but for now I think these are some interesting ones. I've received a proof copy of my work to be included in the up coming GUD Magazine. Quite happy with the layout, but I wasn't overly happy that they chose to crop the image to fit it on the page.
I'm also planning some 3 dimensional pieces to showcase my work in a more physical sense, rather than just being viewed on a wall or computer screen. I have a few ideas that I'm working on, then I'll decide which ones to construct. I'm hoping to document its creation with some photographs which I'll post here.
My work is also currently being displayed in gallery 1 of the 2-3-D-6 Exhibition at Energy Gallery. This is my second time with EG and they've been very supportive of my work.
Thanks as always for the emails, you can now also contact me via IM on the Contact page. It's been nice meeting people who are enjoying my work.

My work has been featured on the covers of three new publications, "Dark Discoveries", "PurpleVerse" and on Caleb L. Mabry's novel titled "Through The Eyes Of A Stranger". I've also been notified that I will be featured in the upcoming issue of GUD Magazine, which I'm very excited about. You can also see my piece "Body De-Body" in the latest issue of PhireBrush.
I have a few more album covers in negotiation at the moment but I can't mention any specific details at this time.
I'm also currently working on a short film which I'm hoping to post on here in a couple of weeks time once it is completed. I have a wide selection of photography work that I will be posting in the gallery when I get the time, but at the moment I'm having to focus my energy on getting all my other projects finalized.
Thanks to everyone who has emailed me their kind words about the new book and texture collections cd.

You can purchase the book as both traditional print and ebook formats and the Texture Collections are available as Compact Disc and Download formats.
My next release will be my new Portfolio book, which has already been in production for the past 12 months and should be available at the end of 2007.

If you look in the Gallery, you will find my latest piece in the artwork section titled "Body De-Body". I have also added some new destkop backgrounds to the Download section.

A Free 2 page excerpt from "The Artistic Methods" is available for download from ParableVisions.com/Methods. All of the overview information, pricing and samples for the book can also be found there, as well as information and free downloads for the upcoming "Texture Collections" CD containing over 200 Royalty Free Textures which I use in my own work on a daily basis. The "buy buttons" aren't enabled yet, but will be active on the 20th of February.

Darren Randle of PurpleVerse has shown me the new cover for the latest PurpleVerse edition. I'm quite surprised about the image they chose for the cover, as it's a piece that I don't really care for, but they like my work so I guess I can't complain. Darren's been great and updated me every step of the way.

In addition to being on the front cover, I also have a brand new piece on the back cover and quite an extensive feature in the publciation itself. No news yet of a release date, but I'm guessing it will be just around the corner.

I've also added 3 new pieces to the Artwork Section. "Fools & Intellects" has been shown along side "Overdose Dreams" in the Museum Of Computer Art Awards 2007 Exhibition.

Thanks to everyone for their kind emails and comments about my work. Any enquires concerning the upcoming book or textures CD can be emailed to me.

10/December/06

New art prints are finally back in the store section after a year long hiatus. Deviant Prints will print & sell them for me, which has helped me with shipping and printing. This means the art prints are available in a variety of sizes and printed surfaces including Gloss Paper, Matte, Lustre, Canvas Prints, Mouse Pads, Jigsaw Puzzles, Magnets, Postcards, Coffee Mugs and Coasters.
Prices for these prints vary depending on the size and printing surface. I believe the cheapest item starts at around $2.00
I have also added a 5 minute slideshow of my work on YouTube, which you can view below. The music behind the video is from a past project of mine, which I thought suited this well. More videos will be on the way. Thanks to everyone for there very kind emails, messages & comments.

27/November/06

Issue 43 of Phirebrush features some of my latest photography work, including my "Pelicans" photo which made it into the "featured" section.
Purpleverse has allowed me to be featured in Volumes 1 & 2 of their new series of Purpleverse publications, (you may also know them for their "Sinfully Twisted" magazine). In addition to being featured in the publication, I will also be designing the covers for both issues. Thanks to Darren Randle for his kind welcoming of me to the Purpleverse family.

I'm also currently working on the cover for Caleb L. Mabry's novel "Through The Eyes Of A Stranger", which will be available soon. I'll give more information on that once the dates are set. The magazine has now got a new website design, as does Dark Arts World.com (another project I'm involved in).

In the meantime, I have added 15 new photos to the "Photography Section" of the gallery. Thanks to everyone for their continued kind emails, messages and comments about my work. Keep an eye out in the store section over the next few weeks for the return of my art prints which have been unavailable for almost a year. I have found somewhere that will print and sell them for me, which means I will be able to sell them at a much more reasonable price. Some new Desktop Backgrounds have been added to the "Download Section" as well.

Hi there, it's been awhile since any updates on the site, lots of projects still underway and Uni is at the tight end of the year now, so I've been busy trying to keep up with all that.
Issue 42 of Phirebrush features my latest piece "Soul Mates" which can be viewed below. This piece was very enjoyable to create, but it's recieved much more mixed reactions than I anticipated. I think people have looked too far into it and become lost in political correctness. Anyway, hope you enjoy it.

I've also finished designing a t-shirt for my friends at Dark Arts World.com, I'm not sure if we'll sell these publicly or give some away as prizes. Maybe even give some out to members, who knows.... The logo on the front of the t-shirt is one I created earlier in the year, the one on the back is an original idea that we were working with recently. If you would like one of these t-shirts, send me an email and I'll give you the details on how you can pick one up.

Issue 39 of Phirebrush features some artwork, photography and wallpapers of mine. Check it out at Phirebrush.com.
Issue 3 of PVM is also available in the Magazine section. The issue features works by Stephen Kasner, Jason Beam, Anna Bird, Edward Renrusun, Felix Noble, Giles Paley-Phillips, Raye Gianfrancesco, Sarah Peters, Tamir David and Tracy Downs. Also includes an exclusive interview with Stephen Kasner.
A new piece is also available in the Artwork section titled "Tomorrow's Birth".
I'm currently working on some T-shirt designs for UK Gothic band Dyonisis. I'll post them in detail once they're all finalised.

Be sure to check out the latest issue of Cthulhu Sex magazine, which features some of my artwork. It's a great looking publication and I'm honored to be featured along side the names of Mike Bohatch, Adam Johns, Allen Koszowski, and Christopher Lee Donovan, plus more.
Issue 3 of PVM isn't far off being released so don't get your pants in a knot. Alot of hard work has gone into this issue to extend on the things we learned from the previous 2 issues. The layout is looking beautiful and we have some very big names being featured so stay tuned for that!
Thanks also for the very kind messages and emails.

I've been accepted into Gallery One of the 2-D-2 exhibit at Energy Gallery. Only 49 artists were accepted into the exhibition so I feel very thankful to be included along side such great artists, some of which include:
Alan Traeger, Ben Fink,, Cara Wade, Don Bergland, Ellie Brown, Gerhardt Thompson, Gregory Mclellan, Iku Higuchi, Irina Kruk, Shon Kim, Jing Zhou, Jsun Laliberte, Mark Williams, Max Liboiron, Michael Slatky, Miya Ando Stanoff, Laura Rusnak, Susan Fecho, Tony Maher and others.
A New piece has also been added to the illustration gallery titled "Charging The Inspiration".
I'm also pleased to announce I've begun work on a new book. This book is not a portfolio book like "Parable Visions", but more of a reference book for artists who wish to learn more about creating art by mixing digital and traditional mediums together. The book will cover areas such as texturing, lighting, creating walls, floors, doors, lights, windows, skies etc, as well as information on composition, perspective and tutorials on making some of the elements you see in my work.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions for things you'd like to see in the new book please send me an email.
Thank you to everyone for their very kind comments and emails about my work.
